Mark Daniel Parrish (born February 2, 1977 in Bloomington , Minnesota ) is a former American ice hockey player who played 749 games for the Florida Panthers , New York Islanders , Los Angeles Kings , Minnesota between 1995 and 2012 Wild , Dallas Stars , Tampa Bay Lightning and Buffalo Sabers played in the National Hockey League on the right winger position .

Career

Parrish played with Matt Cullen for the St. Cloud State college team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association during his junior years . In the 1996 NHL Entry Draft , he was selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the third round as 79th. He twice participated in a world championship with the US junior national team. In 1997 he moved to the Western Hockey League for the Seattle Thunderbirds .

The Florida Panthers from Colorado brought him for Tom Fitzgerald . From the 1998/99 season he played mostly with the Panthers and played only a few games in the American Hockey League for the farm team Beast of New Haven . The fact that he made it to fifth place in the rookie ranking with just 37 points was also due to the overall weak year. After another year in Florida, he moved to the 2000/01 season together with Oleg Kwascha for the New York Islanders . In return, Roberto Luongo and Olli Jokinen switched to the Panthers. He developed his performance there and was rewarded for a good 2001/02 season with a participation in the NHL All-Star Game . For the third time, after 1998 and 2001 , he was part of the US national team at the 2005 men's ice hockey world championship . Shortly after the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , he moved to the Los Angeles Kings . Because his contract was about to expire, he only stayed there until the end of the season. On June 1, 2006, he signed a contract with the Minnesota Wild as a free agent , which, however, was already paid off after two years in the summer of 2008, as Parrish repeatedly had to struggle with injury problems. It wasn't until November 2008 that he found a new employer in the Dallas Stars , where he managed a hat trick on his debut .

On July 8, 2011 Parrish signed a two-way contract for one year with the Ottawa Senators , but was only used for their farm team, the Binghamton Senators . In autumn 2012 he decided to end his active career.
