The ice hockey team of the United States is from USA Hockey organized. After the 2019 World Cup , the team is ranked 6th in the IIHF world rankings .

There are over 485,000 active players in the United States. The national team's head coach has been Jeff Blashill since 2017 . With two Olympic victories each (1960 and 1980) and world championships (1933 and 1960) as well as nine other Olympic and twelve other world championship medals, the Americans are among the most successful national teams ever.
