history
The Catalan selection made their debut in 2003 with a 2-0 win over the Belgian national team . In addition, Catalonia have met the Basque selection in two games , with the visiting team winning each time. Both the Basque Country and Catalonia have their own national associations, but these are subordinate to the Federación Española de Deportes de Hielo , which sets up a joint national team for Spain with the Spanish national team .
With Salvador Barnola , Daniel Hilario and Orlando Pereiro , the squad of the Catalan selection also includes several Spanish national players.
