Salvador Barnola (born September 6, 1977 in Puigcerdà ) is a Spanish ice hockey player who has been under contract with CG Puigcerdà in the Spanish Super League since 1998 . He is Spain’s record international player .

Career

Salvador Barnola began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of the CG Puigcerdà , for whose first team he made his debut in the Superliga in the 1998/99 season . With his home club, the long-time national player won the Spanish championship title in 2006, 2007 and 2008 and the Copa del Rey in 1999, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 .

International

For Spain , Barnola took part in the junior division of the U18 Junior B European Championship in 1994 , the U18 Junior C1 European Championship in 1995 , when he was voted best player on his team, and the U20 Junior C1 World Championship in 1995 .

In the senior division, the left winger was initially in his country's squad at the C World Championships in 1998 and 2000 and the D World Championship in 1999 . After the conversion of the championship mode to the current division system, he participated in the World Championships Division II in 2001 , 2002 , 2003 , 2004 , 2005 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 and 2015 and the Division I in 2011 in part . Since 2011 he has led the Spanish selection on the ice as team captain. He also represented his colors in qualifying for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver . With 88 international matches, he is the record player for his country.

In addition to his appearances in the Spanish national team, he also plays for the Catalan team .
