description

The 30 Park Place building is on Church Street in Lower Manhattan, New York . This is opposite the World Trade Center area , where a high-rise complex is currently being built. a. also the One World Trade Center is located. The construction of 30 Park Place began in June 2008. In September 2009, however, it was announced that the construction of the skyscraper had to be stopped due to the financial crisis after essential work on the foundation had already been completed. At first it was not foreseeable when the work would be resumed; the opening was originally planned for 2011. In January 2010, building owner Silverstein Properties announced that it was looking for investors and tenants for the building and that construction would continue as soon as possible. On May 15, 2013, it was announced that Silverstein Properties had entered into an agreement with a London-based investment firm. This company is said to have provided a loan of over 510 million euros, which secures the financing (730 million euros total costs) for the skyscraper. Construction then continued at the end of October 2013. The final height was reached on February 19, 2015. The opening took place at the end of October 2016.

Once completed, the structure will be 286 meters high to the roof, making it one of the tallest skyscrapers in New York City . In downtown Manhattan, the tower will surpass 8 Spruce Street as the tallest residential building. Originally, the height was set at 278 meters, but this was slightly modified in August 2013. The 67-story slim building (marketed as 82) is to contain a hotel in the lower area, while the upper floors will be available for residential apartments.

The building is to have a characteristic facade. In contrast to most modern buildings, it is planned not to provide these with a uniform glass envelope, but rather to encase them with limestone and insert the window elements individually.
