history
The Macau national ice hockey team first participated in an official tournament in 2007 when they took part in the Winter Asian Games in Changchun , China , where they finished eleventh and last. The following year Macau was again last with a sixth place in the newly founded IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia , in which they also participated in 2009. After the national selection in their preliminary group with three defeats and 1:24 goals were last behind the teams from the United Arab Emirates , Hong Kong and Singapore , they had to enter the placement round for places five to eight. There they lost 4-1 to Mongolia , before Macau achieved their first ever official international win with a clear 8-0 win over newcomer India . The team suffered their biggest defeat to date at the Challenge Cup of Asia in 2015 , when they suffered a 30-minute loss against hosts and tournament winners Taiwan in the top division in which Macau competed for the first time .
