The IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia in 2016 was the ninth edition of the by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF carried out competition . A total of ten national teams took part in the top division and division I tournaments between March 12 and April 14, 2016 .
The Republic of China (Taiwan) secured the title for the sixth time , clearly beating host United Arab Emirates 6-1 in the decisive final tournament game .
