The IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia in 2018 was the eleventh edition of the by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF carried out competition . A total of nine national teams took part in the two top division and division I tournaments between March 24 and April 8, 2018 .
The title was secured for the first time ever by Mongolia , which beat the two teams from Thailand and the Philippines with the same points due to the best record in a direct comparison . In Division I, the team from Malaysia prevailed.

Last year's winner, the United Arab Emirates , for the first time since 2008 and a total of three tournament wins , did not participate in the top division and, like Kuwait, made his debut in qualifying for the World Cup in Division III 2018 . Qatar and Oman withdrew their participation in Division I at the beginning of March 2018, which reduced the number of participants from six to four teams.

Four national teams took part in the tournament, which played out the placements in a single round with subsequent semi-finals and finals. Qatar and Oman withdrew their reports before the tournament.
