The IIHF Women's Challenge Cup of Asia in 2016 Division I was the sixth edition of the by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF carried out competition . The tournament was held from March 22nd to 26th, 2016 in Taipei , the capital of the Republic of China (Taiwan) . The game was played in the 800-seat Annex Ice Rink .

As in the previous year, the strongest Asian nations did not participate, so that only teams from Division I took part in the competition. As in the previous year, the title was secured by the Republic of China (Taiwan) team , which clearly won the decisive final game against Thailand, who later came second, with 8: 1.

Attendees

Of the only three participants last year , only the Hong Kong team decided not to participate again.

Singapore took part for the first time since 2014 . India and Malaysia made their first appearances in the competition .

mode

The five participating teams played a single round in the everyone-versus-everyone mode .
