For the first time, a university tournament was planned for the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia. It took place as the IIHF University Challenge Cup of Asia for players under the age of 20 from May 12 to 14, 2010 in Goyang, South Korea, near Seoul . The participants were Japan, the People's Republic of China and the host team, South Korea. The games took place in the 3,400-seat Goyang SPART Complex Arena .
