The IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia in 2012 was the fifth edition of the by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF carried out competition . The tournament was held from March 18 to 25, 2012 in the Indian city ​​of Dehradun in the state of Uttarakhand . The game was played in the Dehradun Arena .

In terms of performance, the groups were composed according to their placements in the previous year . The best three teams of 2011 - with the exception of the non-participating previous year's winner Hong Kong - played in Group A.
