The IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia in 2010 was the third edition of the by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF carried out competition . The tournament was held from March 29 to April 4, 2010 in Taipei , the capital of the Republic of China (Taiwan) . The game was played in the 800-seat Annex Ice Rink .
For the second time since 2008 , the Republic of China secured the title after beating defending champions United Arab Emirates 3-2.

The groups were composed according to the placements of the previous year . While last year's participant India did not participate, the winner of the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia 2008 , the Republic of China (Taiwan), was added to the field again. For the first time Kuwait took part in the competition.
mode
A total of nine teams took part and played in two groups for a place in the finals. Due to the odd number of participants, one group played with four teams and the other with five teams. The two best placed in a group reached the semi-finals after the preliminary round. The teams in ranks 3 and 4 played the final positions for places 5 to 8 in a further round.
