Likit Neimwan Andersson (born February 24, 1973 in Phitsanulok ) is a Thai - Swedish ice hockey player and coach .

Career

Likit Andersson was born in Thailand but grew up in Sweden. There he began his career as an ice hockey player at Borås HC , for whose professional team he was active from 1993 to 1996 in Division 1 , which was still second at the time . Then he played for a year for their league rivals Mörrum GoIS . From 1997 to 1999 the defender played for one season each for the German second division clubs Deggendorfer EC and TSV Erding . He spent the following three and a half years mostly in North America, where he was on the ice for the Trenton Titans and Augusta Lynx in the ECHL and the Detroit Vipers from the International Hockey League . He was particularly convincing in the ECHL and took part in the ECHL All-Star Game in 2001. In 2002 he also played three games for the Bracknell Bees from the British Ice Hockey Superleague . The 2002/03 season he started again in Augusta before he joined the Amstel Tijgers Amsterdam from the Dutch Eredivisie . At the end of the season, he immediately won the double of championship title and cup with the team .

In the 2003/04 season Andersson played for his ex-club Borås HC in the meanwhile third-rate Division 1 and for the Greensboro Generals from the ECHL. The 2004/05 season he started with the Bakersfield Condors from the ECHL and finished it at Borås HC in Division 1. He also came to two missions for the Frölunda HC from the Elitserien . In the following season , the left shooter appeared for the ECHL participants Stockton Thunder , Trenton Titans and South Carolina Stingrays . This was followed by one season each at HC Eppan from the Italian A2 series and at Totempo HvIK from the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen . He last appeared in the 2008/09 season for the Cardiff Devils and the Newcastle Vipers in the Elite Ice Hockey League in Great Britain, before ending his professional career at the age of 36. He then returned to Thailand and has since worked as a player-coach for the national team in his home country. He is also involved in the youth field and runs ice hockey schools in Thailand.

International

For Thailand , Andersson took part in the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia as a player-coach in 2010, 2011 and 2012 . In 2011 , he was also part of his country's ice hockey squad at the Asian Winter Games . In 2012 he was the head coach of the Thai U18 national team when it won the Challenge Cup of Asia.
