The IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia in 2008 was the first edition of the by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF carried out competition . The tournament was held from April 24th to 26th, 2008 in Kowloon , a district of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China . The game was played in Mega Ice , the only IIHF-certified ice rink in the city.
The title went to the Republic of China (Taiwan) , which won four of its five tournament games and prevailed with twelve points ahead of Malaysia and Hong Kong .

The six participating teams played in the everyone-versus-everyone mode . The playing time was reduced to two times 18 minutes in order to be able to play all 15 games in three days.
