The men's national ice hockey team of the Republic of China (Taiwan) is part of the Republic of China Ice Hockey Federation ( Chinese Taipei Ice Hockey Federation ). After the 2018 World Cup, she is ranked 46th out of 50 teams in the IIHF world rankings .

The national team of the Republic of China (also known as Taiwan ) played their first international matches in 1987. The team took part in the 1987 D-World Championship out of competition . The first game against Hong Kong ended in a draw, the remaining three games were lost, including 3:31 against Australia .

In 2005 the national ice hockey team played three games, losing 6-2 to Hong Kong and winning 5-3 and 11-4 against Thailand . In 2008, the Republic of China took part in an official IIHF tournament for the first time when they prevailed at the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia with four wins in one defeat against the teams from Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and Macau. Despite the success, the team decided not to participate again the following year. In 2010 the national Chinese were able to win this competition again. The Taiwanese suffered their biggest defeat, a 0:35 defeat against the selection of Kazakhstan , when they participated in the 2011 Asian Winter Games .

At the 2015 Challenge Cup in Taipei, they achieved their highest international win to date with a 30-0 win over Macau . In 2016, the team won the Challenge Cup of Asia for the sixth time.

In 2017 , Taiwan took part in a World Championship in Division III for the first time. After beating the United Arab Emirates, the team reached sixth place out of seven participating nations.
