The Liechtenstein national ice hockey team is the selection team of the Liechtenstein ice hockey and inline association LEIV . As there is neither a competitive ice rink nor an ice hockey championship in the Principality of Liechtenstein, the only Liechtenstein ice hockey club, EHC Vaduz-Schellenberg , plays in the Vorarlberg Ice Hockey League 2 (VEHL2). The national team is therefore made up exclusively of amateur players, many even only play in hobby leagues, exclusively inline hockey, or are only in training at the EHC Vaduz-Schellenberg.
So far, Liechtenstein has played two international matches: On April 26, 2003 the team lost 7-1 in Luxembourg, in the so-called "home premiere", which took place in Widnau in Switzerland due to the lack of ice , the team played against Luxembourg 2-4 on March 10, 2007 , but was able to compensate in the meantime. Shortly before the first official international match in 2003, the team played against a youth team from EHC Feldkirch and was clearly defeated 0:25.
