Jürgen Reipka

Jürgen Reipka (born December 14, 1936 in Hanover , † December 31, 2013 in Pfarrkirchen ) was a German painter .

Life

Reipka studied from 1960 to 1963 at the Bremen Art School under Johannes Schreiter and from 1963 to 1968 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Josef Oberberger . Here he was professor from 1973 and its president from 1976 to 1979. In addition, Reipka was a member of the German Association of Artists , the " New Group " Munich and the Presidium of the Exhibition Management House of Art in Munich.

From 1964 over 400 participations and solo exhibitions took place; Reipka's works can be found in numerous collections, including the Bavarian State Painting Collection, the State Collection in Stuttgart and the State Graphic Collection in Munich .

For the Münchner Freiheit underground station , he designed a 24-meter-long frieze that extends over the tunnel entrances on the south side of the wall.

Jürgen Reipka lived and worked in Munich and in Pfarrkirchen, where he died on New Year's Eve 2013 after a long illness.
