The Lithuanian national ice hockey team for men is ranked 25th in the IIHF world rankings after the 2018 World Cup and plays in Division I at the world championships . The national team is organized by the Lithuanian Ice Hockey Federation .

In the interwar period , the Lithuanian national team took part in the ice hockey world championship in 1938 and took eleventh place out of 14 teams. This is also the best placement of the team from the Baltic states to date. In 1995 the team qualified for an ice hockey world championship for the first time after regaining independence , but the team has not yet won a medal. The Lithuanian national team has never participated in the Olympic Games .

The German Bernd Haake has been the national coach for Lithuania since 2012 . At the 2014 World Cup , the team took third place in Group B of Division I, which was held in Vilnius , and used the home advantage to improve by two places over the two previous years. At the 2016 World Cup , the Lithuanians had the chance to move up to the A group of Division I before the last match day, but lost the last game against hosts Croatia 2-1 after a penalty shoot-out and had to come third behind Ukraine and Great Britain content.
