history
The Colombian national ice hockey team made its international debut as part of the first pan-American ice hockey tournament in March 2014, which is organized by the host Mexico with the support of the world association IIHF. In the first group game, the Colombians, who traveled almost exclusively with national inline hockey players, won their international debut against Argentina by a clear 11: 1. This was also the first international match for a national ice hockey team in Colombia. In the course of the tournament, the Colombians were finally able to defeat Brazil 14-0 before they again defeated Argentina 9-1 in the third-place match and finished third. They won the two following tournaments in 2015 and 2016 before Mexico , with the decisive group game being won 6-5 in 2015, while in 2016, when a final of the two group games was played after the group games, they were behind the group games after the group games Central Americans, but then won the final 3-2 after a shootout. In 2017, the final against Mexico was lost 1-0, so in the end, second place jumped out.
A Colombian B team took part in the pan-American ice hockey tournament in 2017, finishing sixth out of nine teams.
