The national ice hockey team of Uzbekistan is a selection of Uzbek players who represent the country on an international level.

history

The selection of the then Uzbek Soviet Republic took part in the Soviet Winter Spartakiads in 1978, 1982 and 1986. Of the 15 games, eight of them against regional national teams, Uzbekistan could only win two, in 1982 and 1986 against the Lithuanian national ice hockey team .

After the country gained independence in 1991, there was no more ice hockey in Uzbekistan. The Uzbek Ice Hockey Federation was re-established in 2013, but stopped working in 2014.

A new ice hockey association was founded in 2018. This hosted the Uzbek ice hockey league from 2019 . The Humo Arena is the first ice rink with an internationally common ice surface (60 by 30 meters). With the league and arena, the conditions for participation in ice hockey world championships have been met, so that the association became a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF in September 2019 .
