Team Europe

Team Europe refers to a selection of European athletes in various sporting competitions . This usually competes against selections from other continents.

The Ryder Cup in golf has been played between the selections of the USA and Europe since 1979. Europe replaced the previous selection from Great Britain and Ireland . Team Europe has won 10 out of 18 events so far, one of which was a draw.

Since 1990, the Solheim Cup has been an equivalent competition for female golf professionals. At the Royal Trophy , Team Europe competes against Team Asia.

ice Hockey

At the World Cup of Hockey 2016 , Team Europe consisted of European players who did not come from the strongest European ice hockey nations Russia , Sweden , Finland or the Czech Republic . These teams were each represented separately. The team Europe reached the final, in which it was defeated against Canada.

Curling

A European team sometimes plays at the Continental Cup of Curling . The opponent is Team North America or Team Canada. In part, Europe is also being replaced by a world selection.

Table tennis

In the Asia-Europe All Stars Challenge , Team Europe competes against Team Asia.
