Bohr is an impact crater on the westernmost edge of the front of the moon , so, if at all, it is only visible from Earth in a strongly distorted manner. In the northeast it touches the wall of Vasco da Gama , in the northwest lies the crater Einstein . The rim of the crater is heavily eroded and partially overlaid by younger craters.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1964 after the Danish physicist Niels Bohr .

The moon valley Vallis Bohr is southwest of Bohr .
