Winter Asian Games 2007 / Ice Hockey
The ice hockey competitions of the VI. Winter Asian Games took place from January 26th to February 3rd, 2007 in Changchun , People's Republic of China . In addition to the host nation, the People's Republic of China, ten other countries took part in the men's competition. As a result, a new record number of participants was achieved. The gold medal was secured for the second time by Japan, which did not lose a tournament. Kazakhstan and South Korea won the other medals behind them.
Five teams took part in the women's ice hockey tournament. The participants were the host nation, South Korea, North Korea, Kazakhstan and Japan. The title was secured for the second time by Kazakhstan, which remained undefeated in all games. Japan won silver, China took bronze.
Venues
The men's tournament took place in the Fu'ao ice hockey stadium - with the exception of the final round game between China and South Korea . The women played in the ice rink in Jilin Province .

Men's
mode
The eleven participants were initially divided into three groups of three teams and one group of two teams. These played out the final round participants of each group in a single round. The teams in second places qualified for the placement round of places 5 to 8. The three bottom of the group played from ranks 9 to 11.
After the preliminary round, the four group winners completed the final round, which was also played in a single round, so that each team played three games. The team with the most points won the gold medal. The rounds for places 5 to 8 and 9 to 11 were played separately in the knockout system . The best third party was automatically seeded for the game for 9th place.
