Eum Hyun-seung (born May 28, 1984 in Seoul ) is a South Korean ice hockey goalkeeper who last played until 2013 for Anyang Halla in the Asia League Ice Hockey .

Career

Born in the capital Seoul , Eum Hyun-seung made his squad debut for South Korean club Kangwon Land in the Asia League Ice Hockey in the 2006/07 season . This was called for the 2007/08 season, which means that Eum guarded the goal for High1 until 2010 . In his first season he was named ALIH Rookie of the Year . In the summer of 2010 he finally moved to league rivals and reigning champions Anyang Halla . With the club he won the Asia League for the first time in 2011.

International

At the international level, Eum Hyun-seung represented his home country both in the junior and senior sector. So he played at the U18 Junior World Championship Division III in 2002 , when he was promoted to the division with the team. He also guarded the goal of the South Koreans at the U20 Junior World Championship of Division II in 2004 .

With the seniors, he contested the Division II World Championships in 2007 and 2009 and the Division I World Championships in 2008 , 2010 , 2011 , when he was voted the best goalkeeper of the tournament, in 2012 and 2013 . In addition to two promotions to Division I in 2007 and 2009, the goalkeeper was able to celebrate promotion from B to A group in 2012 in Division I. He himself contributed significantly to the promotion with the second best catch quota of the tournament. In addition, Eum guarded the gate of South Korea at the Winter Asian Games in 2007 and 2011 , when the team won bronze. In 2011 he achieved the third-best catch quota of the tournament behind the Kazakhs Vitaly Jeremejew and the Japanese Yutaka Fukufuji . He also represented his colors at the qualifying tournament for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi .
