Anyang Halla is a South Korean ice hockey club from Anyang that was founded in 1994 and has been playing in the Asia League Ice Hockey since 2003 . He was five times winner of the Asia League Ice Hockey.
history
Anyang Halla was founded in 1994 and then took part in the game operations of the Korean Hockey League , which they won a total of five times. When the Japan Ice Hockey League was dissolved in 2003 and the Asia League Ice Hockey was founded, Anyang Halla was the first team from abroad alongside the four Japanese teams. In their first season, the South Koreans took third of five places (no playoffs were played). After they had missed the playoffs in the 2004/05 season, they have since reached the playoffs in every season, failing in the 2005/06 and 2008/09 semi-finals. The greatest success in the ALIH for Anyang was winning the championship in the 2009/10 season, when they could prevail in the playoff final against Japanese rivals Nippon Paper Cranes . Previously, the team was the main round winner in 2009 and 2010. In the 2010/11 season, the ALIH championship was won again. In 2015, the team was able to win the main round, but then lost the playoff final against the main round third , the Tōhoku Free Blades , with three defeats. In 2016 and 2017, after winning the main round, the championship title of the Asia League was won for the third and fourth time by a winning streak in the playoff final against HK Sakhalin . In 2018 it was only enough for a place behind Sakhalin in the main round, but the final series was then won 3-1 against the Ōji Eagles .
