The Japanese national ice hockey team of the women 's national ice hockey national team of Japan . She is eighth in the 2015 IIHF world rankings and plays in the top division of the world championship.

history

The Japanese women's national ice hockey team has been participating in international competitions since 1990. Her greatest success so far at a World Cup was finishing seventh at the 2008 World Cup . In their only Olympic participation in 1998 , the Japanese finished in their own country in Nagano in sixth and thus last place.

Japan, which is one of the best countries in Asia for women's ice hockey, finished the Asian Winter Games with a silver medal in the first five appearances. In 2017 they won the tournament.
