The Canadian women's ice hockey team is a member of the Canadian ice hockey association " Hockey Canada " . "Team Canada" is the most successful national women's ice hockey team in the world with ten (out of eighteen possible) world championship titles and four (out of six possible) Olympic gold medals. The players, who are recruited from the North American women's ice hockey leagues, come together for several months of training camps before the Olympic Games, during which “Team Canada” plays a large number of friendly matches.
