history

The Belgian national ice hockey team for women took part in a women's world championship for the first time in 2000 . In their first World Cup participation, the team failed to qualify for the B World Championship, as well as the qualification for Division II the following year . In the 2002 Olympic year, the Belgian national team used their free time and took part in Group 2 of the IIHF World Women's Challenge . From 2003 to 2008 the Belgians took part in Division III, in which they always finished third and fourth.

Since the divisions III to V in the 2009 World Championships were not played and 2010 due to the hosting of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver anyway No Women's World Cup was held, denied Belgium in 2011 for the first time in three years a World Cup game and continued to appear in the Division III . With five defeats they were relegated to Division IV, but due to the cancellation of several teams, they played the following year in the higher Division II B , where they reached the penultimate place and had to play again in Division III.
