The 17th women's ice hockey world championships of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF were the ice hockey world championships of 2014 . Between March 19 and April 12, 2014, a total of 28 national teams took part in the five tournaments of Divisions I and II as well as the qualification.

Although there have never been any world championships in an Olympic ice hockey tournament, the World Ice Hockey Federation IIHF hosted world championship games for the first time in 2014. The promotion games for eighth place in the top division for the 2015 World Cup were played in best-of-three mode.
