The Spanish women's national ice hockey team is Spain's national ice hockey selection . It is subject to the Spanish ice sports association Federación Española de Deportes de Hielo . She played her first game against another team from the IIHF on May 22, 2009. The first World Cup participation took place in 2011 .
history
The Spanish women's national ice hockey team made its debut at an international tournament in Cergy , France , when the team lost the opening game against a selection from Bavaria 1:10 on May 21, 2009 . The team celebrated their first victory on the same day with a 4-0 win against Lady Panthers Grefrath . The first international match took place in the course of the tournament on May 22nd against Belgium and ended with a 1: 3 defeat. The Spaniards celebrated their debut at the World Championships in 2011 , where they finished second behind Poland in Division V in Sofia . Due to the cancellation of several teams, they played in the higher Division II B the following year , but were able to establish themselves quickly. After an opening defeat against the later promoted Poland, the Iberians won the encounters against South Africa , Belgium, Iceland and hosts South Korea to ultimately take second place in the group.
