Spanish women's national water polo team
The Spanish women's water polo team ( Spanish Selección Española de Waterpolo femenino ) is a selection of Spanish players in the sport of water polo (Spanish waterpolo ). It represents the Real Federación Española de Natación (Royal Spanish Swimming Association) on an international level, for example at the World Water Polo Championships , the European Championships , the FINA World Cup , the World League or the Olympic Games .
The greatest achievement of the women's national team was winning the gold medal at the 2013 World Water Polo Championships . The Spaniards prevailed 8: 6 against Australia and thus won their country's first title in women's water polo. Just a year earlier, the Iberians had only failed in the 2012 Olympic Games in London in the final with 5-8 at the United States and took silver. At the European Water Polo Championships in 2014 , the team won the title by beating the Netherlands 10: 5 in the final.
