Spanish national water polo team
The Spanish national water polo team ( span. Selección Española de Waterpolo ) is a selection of Spanish players in the sport of water polo (span. Waterpolo ). It represents the Real Federación Española de Natación (Royal Spanish Swimming Association) on an international level, for example at the World Water Polo Championships , the European Championships , the FINA World Cup , the World League or the Olympic Games .
The greatest successes of the men's national team were winning the gold medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and the world championship titles in 1998 in Perth and 2001 in Fukuoka . In addition, the Spanish selection won the silver medals at the 1992 Olympic Games , the 1991 , 1994 and 2009 World Championships and the 1991 and 2018 European Championships .
