Railway stations in Baden-Württemberg |
The Blaubeuren station is the station of the town of Blaubeuren in the east of Baden-Württemberg . It is located on the Ulm – Sigmaringen railway line , has two platform tracks and belongs to category 5 of DB Station & Service. On weekdays it is of more than 60 regional trains of Deutsche Bahn approached, on Sundays and public holidays from about 50. The station was opened as a temporary end point of the coming of Ulm route after two years of work in the year. 1868 The renovation of the historic reception building began in 2011 .
In the Gerhausen district there is also another train station on the Blaubeurer district with the stop of the same name .
history
The station was commissioned on August 2, 1868. The representative station building has been preserved to this day. A goods shed west of the reception building, which now contains a sporting goods dealer, has been preserved to this day; the locomotive shed that was built was demolished in the 1970s. With the demolition of the cement works to the south of the tracks, its siding was also removed.
Railway systems
The Blaubeuren station still has two platform tracks. To the south of the two platform tracks is a third track without a platform.
track | Length in m | Height in cm |
---|---|---|
1 | 190 | 38 |
2 | 160 | 38 |
Platform 2 is accessed via an access at the same level. As part of the Baden-Württemberg station modernization program, the operational quality and punctuality of 15 local train stations, including Blaubeuren, are to be increased by 2019, which is why the level access is to be replaced by an underpass or access from the pedestrian walkway. The fact that Deutsche Bahn wanted to change the plans that had already been completed caused delays. Instead of regionally widespread as well as for the network of regional S-Bahn Danube-Iller provided platform height of 55 centimeters should be changed, the height to 76 centimeters. Under pressure from the country, the original plans are adhered to.
Reception building
To the north of the tracks is the station building, which opened in 1868 and is located directly on Bundesstraße 28 . Renovation work began in 2011, and a travel agency is also planned on the ground floor in addition to catering and office space.
Signal box
About 200 meters west of the reception building, on the south side of the tracks, directly at the former level crossing, there is a push-button interlocking of the type Dr S2.
environment
The train station is south of the Blaubeurer city center. To the east of the reception building are the Blaubeuren Bahnhof bus stop and a P + R car park. In order to make the shopping center south of the tracks on the site of the former cement works better accessible for pedestrians, a footbridge that was opened in 2006 and is also suitable for wheelchair users was built to the west of the reception building over the tracks.
The level crossing in the west of the station was replaced by a bridge.
