The Italian national ice hockey team of the women 's national ice hockey combined team of Italy . She is in the IIHF world rankings of 2017 in 19th place and plays in the World Championship Division II.
history
The Italian national ice hockey team for women was founded in 1992 and has participated in international competitions since the 1999 World Cup qualification. Her greatest success so far at a world championship was eighth place in the B-WM (16th place overall) in her very first participation in the World Cup in 2000 , which also meant relegation to Division II, which was subsequently introduced and in which Italy has played since then.
In their only participation in the Winter Olympics so far , the Italians finished eighth and last at the 2006 Winter Games in Turin , for which they were automatically qualified as hosts.
