The 6th Women's Ice Hockey World Championships in 2000 took place at the following locations and times:

A World Championship: April 3rd to 9th in Mississauga a . a. ( Canada )
B World Cup: 20th bis 26. March in Riga and Liepaja ( Latvia )
Qualification for the B-WM 2001: March 22nd to 26th in Dunaújváros and Székesfehérvár ( Hungary )

A world championship

The Group A tournament was held in Mississauga , Barrie , Kitchener , London , Niagara Falls , Oshawa and Peterborough in Canada . The finals were played at the Hershey Center in Mississauga.

Canada continued to go undefeated at world championships and won their sixth title in a row.
