Irina Vladimirovna Gaschennikowa ( Russian Ирина Владимировна Гашенникова * 11. May 1975 in Mamontowka , Moscow Oblast , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey goalie , which among other SKIF Moscow , Tornado Moskovskaya Oblast , Fakel Chelyabinsk and SKIF Nizhny Novgorod Russia in the highest Women's Ice Hockey League , today's Schenskaya Hockey League , was active. With the Russian women's national team , she took part in a large number of tournaments and won a medal at both European and World Championships.

Career

Irina Gaschennikowa belongs to the first generation of female ice hockey players in Russia. From 1994 she was a member of the Russian national team and completed a total of 6 world championships, three Olympic Winter Games and a large number of other tournaments for her home country. She won a silver medal ( European Championship 1996 ) and a bronze medal ( World Championship 2001 ).

At club level, she played for the predecessor clubs of SKIF Moscow (ZSK WWS Moscow, Wiking Moscow), from 2006 for Tornado Moskowskaja Oblast , Fakel Tscheljabinsk and between 2013 and 2016 for SKIF Nizhny Novgorod and won the Russian championship 12 times with them .

In 2016 she ended her career and became an assistant trainer at SKIF.
