Katri-Helena "Kati" Luomajoki (born April 10, 1965 in Helsinki ) is a former Finnish ice hockey player who was active for many years at the Espoo Blues , EVU Vantaa and HJK Helsinki in the Naisten SM-sarja and was eight times Finnish Master became. With the Finnish national team , she won four gold medals at European ice hockey championships and six bronze medals at world ice hockey championships .
Career
Katri-Helena Luomajoki was born in Helsinki and played for HJK Helsinki from at least 1982 . In 1982 the Naisten SM-sarja was founded as the highest (women's ice hockey) division and HJK was one of the dominant teams in the early years of this league, so that Luomajoki won the Finnish championship in 1983 and 1984 . Between 1986 and 1990 she played for EVU Vantaa , with whom she won the championship again in 1989.
Between 1990 and 1994 Luomajoki worked for EKS Espoo , which was renamed Kiekko-Espoo in 1992. In the 1994/95 season Luomajoki played for the Keravan Shakers , with whom they won another league title in 1995. She then returned to Kiekko-Espoo, which was renamed Espoo Blues in 1998 . Between 1999 and 2002, she won the Finnish championship four times in a row with the Blues before ending her career.
International
In 1987 the Finnish women's national team was founded, to which Katri-Helena Luomajoki belonged at least from 1989 and with which she won the first IIHF European Women's Championship . At the first World Cup participation of the Finnish lionesses in Ottawa in 1990 , they defeated Sweden 6: 3 in the game for third place and thus won the bronze medal.
At world championships she completed a total of 30 games for Finland between 1990 and 2000, in which Katri-Helena Luomajoki collected 9 points scorer . In 1992, 1994, 1997, 1999 and 2000 she won other bronze medals with Finland. There are also two more gold medals and one bronze medal at European championships.
