The 1994 Women's Ice Hockey World Championship was the third edition of this competition. The World Cup tournament took place from April 11th to 17th in Lake Placid , USA . Qualified were the host USA, the five best teams of the 1993 European ice hockey championship (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Switzerland), defending champions Canada and a representative from the Far East, who was determined in a qualifying round. Canada won its third world championship.
