Victoria "Vicki" Movsessian , m . Movsessian-Lamoriello , (born November 6, 1972 in Concord , Massachusetts ) is a former American ice hockey player . Movsessian was from 1994 to 1998 a member of the women's national ice hockey team of the United States and was with this Olympic champion at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano .

Career

Movsessian spent her high school years at Arlington Catholic High School in Arlington , Massachusetts, until 1990 , from where she moved to Providence College . During her four years at college, she played hockey for the university team in the ECAC . With the team she won the division championship three times in a row between 1992 and 1994. She was appointed to the All-ECAC team twice at the end of the 1991/92 and 1992/93 seasons. She eventually ended her college career at the end of the 1993/94 season, despite missing large portions of the season due to a broken leg.

After finishing college, Movsessian began working for Prudential Financial , but quit after a few weeks in order to train with the US hockey association USA Hockey . For the next four years she played at the 1994 and 1997 World Championships . The defender won the silver medal in both tournaments. At the women's ice hockey tournament held for the first time as part of the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan, Movsessian finally crowned her career by winning the gold medal. She then ended her active career.

Movsessian is married to Chris Lamoriello , a long-time ice hockey official from the National Hockey League and has been known as Movsessian-Lamoriello ever since . She is therefore the daughter-in-law of his father Lou Lamoriello .
