The 3rd European Women's Ice Hockey Championship took place from March 24th to 27th, 1993 in Esbjerg , Denmark . The teams in places 1 to 5 qualified for the 3rd women's ice hockey world championship in the following year.
A new B group was introduced with promotion and relegation rules to the A group. The games of group B were played from March 22 to 27, 1993 in Kiev , Ukraine .

qualification
The qualifying matches were played in November 1992. They later turned out to be obsolete. After the Netherlands and Italy withdrew their reports, the loser of the qualification was also able to take part in the group B tournament.
