Marianne Ihalainen (born February 22, 1967 in Tampere ) is a former Finnish ice hockey player . She played in the position of the right winger . In the mid-2000s, she was the head coach of Ilves Tampere 's women's team for four years . In the late 2000s she was the team manager of the Finnish national ice hockey team .
Career
Marianne Ihalainen represented the Finnish national team at the 1998 Winter Olympics , five world championships and five European championships . In 1998 she won the Olympic bronze medal and World Championship bronze medals in 1990 , 1992 , 1994 , 1997 and 2000 . In addition, she reached four European championship titles - 1989, 1991, 1993 and 1995. In total, she completed 116 international matches, in which she scored 73 goals, 64 assists and a total of 137 scorer points - with 30 penalty minutes.
In 2007 she was honored as the first woman to be accepted into the Finnish Ice Hockey Hall of Fame for her services to Finnish women's ice hockey .
In 2019, her jersey number was blocked by the Finnish Ice Hockey Federation.
