The 1991/92 season was the tenth edition of the highest Finnish women's ice hockey league , the Naisten SM-sarja . The league was carried out by the Finnish ice hockey association Suomen Jääkiekkoliitto . The championship title was secured for the seventh time in the club's history and third time in a row Ilves Tampere . SaiPa Lappeenranta rose to the second division, the I-Divisioona , while Imatran Ketterä managed to keep the league in relegation.

In the main round, the eight participating teams played a single round with a return game, a total of 14 games per team. There were 2 points for a win and one for a draw. The first four teams in the main round qualified for the play-off semi-finals; the last two teams took part in the league relegation.

SaiPa lost the league relegation and got relegated to the second division, Imatran Ketterä managed to keep the league. Game results of the relegation are not known.
