The 1999/2000 season was the 18th edition of the highest Finnish women's ice hockey league , the Naisten SM-sarja . The league was carried out by the Finnish ice hockey association Suomen Jääkiekkoliitto .

Each team played a preliminary round with 14 games. There were 2 points for a win and one for a draw. The first four teams of the preliminary round played in a main round for the placement for the play-offs.
