The JYP Naiset (formerly Jyväskylän Hockey Cats ) are a women's ice hockey team from the Finnish city of Jyväskylä , which was spun off from the main club JYP Jyväskylä in 1996 and was operated by a gaming company, Hockey Cats Ry .
The Hockey Cats run several teams for junior women as well as a women's team that played in the Naisten SM-sarja . The best result for this team was fourth. The club's A and C juniors have won the Finnish championship several times in the past.
Since the end of the 2000s, the women's department has been subordinate to the main club again, so that the team is (again) referred to as JYP Naiset .
In 2016, JYP won the Naisten SM-sarja championship and thus the third championship title in the club's history after 1997 and 1998. Subsequently, a large part of the team left the club, so that the club was forced to dissolve the first women's team and continue with the second Team (JYP team) to participate in the Naisten Mestis game.
