Jayna Hefford (born May 14, 1977 in Kingston , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who played for Brampton Thunder in the Canadian Women's Hockey League until 2013 . She won four Olympic gold medals and seven world championship titles with the Canadian national team . In 2018 she was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame .
Career
Jayna Hefford began her career as a hockey player at the University of Toronto . Since 1998 she has been under contract with the Brampton Thunder , for which she first played in the National Women's Hockey League from 1998 to 2007 . From then on she went to Brampton in the newly formed Canadian Women's Hockey League .
After retiring, she was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2018 .
International
For Canada , Hefford took part in the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano , 2002 in Salt Lake City , 2006 in Turin , 2010 in Vancouver and 2014 in Sochi . In addition, she was in her country's squad at the 1997 , 1999 , 2000 , 2001 , 2004 , 2005 , 2007 , 2008 and 2009 World Championships as well as in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 , 2007 and 2008 participated in the 4 Nations Cup and 3 Nations Cup respectively.

Hefford is married to the Canadian ice hockey player Kathleen Kauth and has two children.
