Kathleen Anne Kauth (born March 28, 1979 in Saratoga Springs , New York ) is a former American ice hockey player ; she won the bronze medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics .

Life

Kauth studied at Brown University until 2001 . From 2002 to 2008 she was active for Brampton Thunder in the National Women's Hockey League and twice reached the tournament for the Canadian Women's Championship, the Esso Women's Nationals .

At the 2006 Winter Olympics , she won the bronze medal with the Canadian national team .

After the NWHL stopped playing in 2007, Kauth was instrumental in founding the Canadian Women's Hockey League together with Allyson Fox, Kim McCullough, Sami Jo Small and Jennifer Botterill .

Private

Kauth's father died on September 11, 2001 in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center , where he worked for the Keefe, Bruyette & Woods company . Kauth is married to the Canadian ice hockey player Jayna Hefford and has two children with her.
