history

At the 2001 World Cup , the Romanian women's national team made their World Cup debut when they finished fifth in qualifying for Division II and thus took part in the newly founded Division III the next year. From this, the national team rose at the 2004 World Cup to Division IV, in which it has been competing since then.

After there were no games in the lower divisions in 2009 and no women's World Cup took place in the 2010 Olympic year, the Romanians played a World Cup game at the 2011 World Cup for the first time in three years.
