In the second half of the 20th century, comparatively low land prices and rents led to an influx of people from rural areas, but also from the city of Madrid.
economy
For centuries, the residents of the village lived as self-sufficient farmers from the surrounding area; Traders, craftsmen and service providers of all kinds also settled in the village. In the meantime, small and medium-sized industrial companies have also joined. The various transport connections to Madrid are used by thousands of commuters every day .
history
The oldest archaeological evidence found in the municipality comes from the Bronze and Iron Ages ; Roman and Visigoth finds are missing and there is speculation about a Moorish foundation of the place. In the 10th century, and especially after the reconquest ( reconquista ) of Toledo (1085), the area of Christians from the north was, but also from the south of the Iberian Peninsula ( Mudejar ) populated. The first mention of the place comes from the 12th century; it experienced its heyday in the 17th century.
