Soto del Real , formerly: Villa de Chozas , is a municipality in the comarca of Cuenca Alta del Manzanares in the Community of Madrid in Spain . It is located 43 km north of the city of Madrid.

Geographical location
Soto Real is located 2 km northeast of the Santillana reservoir south of the Sierra de Guadarrama and borders the UNESCO biosphere reserve Cuenca Alta del Manzanares in the west.
Neighboring communities
Soto borders on Miraflores de la Sierra to the east, Colmenar Viejo to the south, Manzanares el Real to the west and Rascafría to the north .
City structure
The municipality is divided into the municipal parts Soto del Real, Sotosierra and Los Rancajales, as well as the settlements of Peña Real and Puente Real.

population
Of the 7,865 registered residents in 2006, 89.14% were Spanish citizens. 4.35% came from Europe (2.53% non-Spanish citizens of the Union ). 3.8% came from South and Central America, 2.26% from Africa, 0.28% from North America and 0.13% from Asia.
