Majadahonda is a municipality 16 km northwest of Madrid . As in all municipalities in the Madrid area, the population is growing rapidly here too. On January 1, 2019, it was 71,826 inhabitants. Due to the good connection with the A-6 , many companies from the service sector have settled here.

Broadcasting station

The most powerful radio transmitter ( 40 ° 29 ′ 6 ″  N , 3 ° 52 ′ 27 ″  W ) in Spain is located between Majadahonda and Las Rozas. It broadcasts on the frequency 585 kHz with an output of 600 kW and also in Germany during the night can be easily received. A guyed transmission mast, 264 meters high and erected in 1962, which is the tallest structure in the greater Madrid area, is used as the antenna. On the station area, from which the RNE-5 program is broadcast on 657 kHz and COPE Madrid on 999 kHz, there is a second 130 meter high transmitter mast.
